On February 3, Zhu Zhaokai, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Shanghai Electric, met with Dr. Frank Meyer, Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH. The two sides exchanged views on green energy transition, smart manufacturing, and global market collaboration.
Zhu noted that amid profound shifts in the global energy landscape, Shanghai Electric is accelerating the optimization of its business portfolio, with technological innovation serving as the primary engine of industrial upgrading. He highlighted Bosch’s leading capabilities and extensive experience in automotive electrification, smart manufacturing, and industrial automation, noting that the company’s deep integration into the Chinese market provides a solid foundation for expanding collaboration with Shanghai Electric. Zhu expressed the expectation that both companies will further broaden collaboration through joint R&D, technology sharing, and coordinated market development. By deepening cooperation across emerging sectors, the two sides can jointly develop core products and integrated solutions tailored to the Chinese market, advance industrial value chains toward high-end, intelligent, and green development, and explore new pathways for industrial transformation under China’s “dual-carbon” goals.
Dr. Meyer emphasized that Bosch regards China as a key driver of global innovation and growth. He noted that Bosch maintains leading strengths in industrial automation, sensor technology, and software systems, while Shanghai Electric brings substantial expertise in large-scale equipment manufacturing and integrated energy systems. These complementary capabilities create a strong basis for long-term cooperation. Bosch expressed confidence in the future of the partnership and its willingness to work with Shanghai Electric and other Chinese partners to develop emerging energy technologies and products that meet both localized requirements and international standards. The company looks forward to strengthening strategic alignment in smart manufacturing, renewable energy equipment, and smart home technologies, expanding application scenarios, and jointly contributing to global energy transition and sustainable development.
