Wu Lei welcomed the delegation and reflected on the enduring partnership established in 1987, highlighting decades of mutual trust and sustained collaboration that have delivered substantial results. He noted that Shanghai Electric is accelerating its green transformation by increasing investment in R&D and collaborative innovation, while expanding its presence in green energy equipment and smart grid solutions in support of China’s “dual-carbon” goals. Despite a complex market environment, the company has maintained stable and resilient growth. Looking ahead, Shanghai Electric will leverage its integrated industrial value chain and resource coordination capabilities to support Carrier’s continued growth in China. Both parties agreed to expand collaboration across a broader range of business segments, deepen cooperation in low-carbon technologies, and jointly advance the global energy transition.

Gitlin reaffirmed the strength and longevity of the partnership and outlined Carrier’s technological capabilities and global footprint in commercial HVAC and data center solutions. He emphasized that China remains one of Carrier’s most strategically important markets. Over decades of development in China, Carrier has established an end-to-end value chain encompassing R&D, manufacturing, sales, and export operations, and continues to expand its local investment. He further noted that Shanghai Electric’s strong industrial foundation in energy equipment manufacturing, combined with Carrier’s expertise in intelligent climate and sustainable energy solutions, creates significant strategic alignment under China’s “dual-carbon” goals. Carrier looks forward to strengthening joint venture capabilities, accelerating technology upgrades and product iteration, and jointly expanding into high-growth international markets.

The meeting was attended by Michael Lotfy Gierges, President, Climate Solutions Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, for Carrier; Cissy Wang, Managing Director, Commercial HVAC North Asia at Carrier Corporation; Nadia Villeneuve, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer; Francesca Campbell, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer; along with representatives from both sides.
