In response to common challenges faced by the high-end equipment industry, such as insufficient intelligence in R&D and design, and the need to enhance precision and complexity in manufacturing, Shanghai Electric actively assumed its role as an industry chain leader. Together with ecosystem partners, the company held a joint launch ceremony for an application pilot and test base during the conference. Leveraging this platform, Shanghai Electric will adopt an open and collaborative approach to build a frontier hub for industrial AI applications, a high-end product innovation and manufacturing hub, and a public service hub. The initiative aims to provide low-cost AI solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, offer scenario-based testing platforms for technology companies, and explore sustainable, replicable, and scalable models of ecosystem co-development.

As part of the conference’s “Top 50 Application Scenarios” release, Shanghai Electric contributed six high-value AI use cases, drawing on its deep industrial expertise in the nuclear power sector. These scenarios include intelligent transformation of nuclear power design documents, smart retrieval from component model libraries, automated generation of 2D drawings from 3D models, intelligent inspection of nuclear island main equipment components, intelligent early warning for casting and forging pouring processes, and smart scheduling of precision grinding machines. These applications provide a credible and actionable “Shanghai Electric model” for the intelligent transformation of high-end equipment manufacturing, demonstrating the company’s unique capability to translate complex industrial knowledge into structured, optimizable, and scalable AI-driven solutions.

The 2025 Shanghai “AI + Manufacturing” Development White Paper, released concurrently at the conference, systematically documented Shanghai Electric’s multi-dimensional achievements in this field.

The “wind power vertical large model” jointly developed by Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group and China Unicom Shanghai has reduced the design and manufacturing costs of a single high-end wind turbine by 10%, setting a new industry benchmark.

Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. was selected as a member of the Shanghai “AI + Manufacturing” Industry Alliance. Shanghai Electric Power Generation Equipment Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. were named “industry-empowered chain chief” enterprises. Shanghai Electric Digital Technology Co., Ltd. was recognized as a professional “AI + Manufacturing” service provider, capable of delivering model platforms, intelligent agents, and application services.

At the intelligent product level, Shanghai Kezhi Electric Automation Co., Ltd.’s “AI+QMS Digital Quality Cloud Management System” and Shanghai Electric Power Generation Equipment Co., Ltd. Turbine Plant’s “AI-based Visual Intelligent Inspection Terminal” have been selected for Shanghai’s “AI + Industrial Software Tools” and “AI + Industrial Products and Equipment” Intelligent Product Promotion Catalogues, respectively.

Through this conference, Shanghai Electric actively participated in agenda setting and value sharing in its multiple capacities, as an ecosystem builder, challenge solver, and value exemplar. The company comprehensively showcased its strategic vision and innovative practices in advancing “AI + manufacturing” from concept to implementation, and from isolated breakthroughs to ecosystem-wide value co-creation.
