Shanghai Electric Hosts “Digital and Intelligent Manufacturing” Sub-competition

Days ago, the “Create A Digital Future Together-2021 SASACS SOE Digital Transformation and Innovation Competition” was jointly launched by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shanghai (SASACS), Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization (SMCEI) and Shanghai Science and Technology Committee (SSTC). Shanghai Electric will host the “Digital Manufacturing” sub-competition by collecting and selecting programs.

This sub-competition focuses on scenarios including smart factories, smart workshops, industrial software, integration of industry and services and digital aviation, and explores industrial solutions that fuse manufacturing and digital technologies and to boost the implementation of enterprises applications, the process optimization, the synergy of industrial chains, the data-driven innovation and to assist China’s upgrading from a manufacturer of quantity to one of quality.

The completion employs both roadshows and professional reviews for projects submitted. It will invite professionals and experts from fields of industries, technology and investment to review projects according to formulated procedures and standards on creativity, commercial potential and team strength and to select several candidates who will be first approved and then published by the competition organizers.

According to its requirements, all enterprises (or teams and individuals) who have digital transformation and innovation capabilities are welcomed to register for different sub-competitions and submit project plans. Centering on the main aim: digital transformation for cities, the competition is devised to incorporate 5 sub-competitions: digital city, digital foundation, digital finance, digital manufacturing and digital commerce for project collection. In addition to sub-competition hosts’ existing scenarios, the competition also collects additional suitable scenarios from enterprises owned by Shanghai which can be opened for the competition.

Award-winning and finalist companies will be granted supportive resources and follow-up services including scenario matching, start-up financing, technological services and media promotion to drive the growth of digital and innovative enterprises continuously. The competition will be endorsed by special supportive policies issued by SASACS, SMCEI and SSTC, which means that award winners will be prioritized to gain related support. Award-winning and finalist companies may have opportunities: to be included in the case archive on digital transformation or the list of recommended suppliers, both of which are recognized by government organs; to sign contracts on digital transformation projects with and receive orders from SOEs; to have access to supports on project financing and mentoring ongoing public; to have the priority to be enrolled in renowned incubators; to gain support and promotion from related eco-systems; and to have access to coaching, training and related activities.

Over 20 major news agencies including Shanghai Observer, a news platform owned by Jiefang Daily will cover award-winning and finalist companies, and communicate their digital transformation cases amid and after the competition in various ways to create a favorable atmosphere for these enterprises throughout the whole society.

The online application is open from May 20 to 17:00 of June 20. The preliminary online sub-competitions and offline quarter-finals will be held from July to August, and the offline final will come in September.
