On May 11, Shanghai Electric received a thank-you letter from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization (SMCEI) which spoke highly of the group in accomplishing an almost impossible task. Since the early epidemic outbreak, Shanghai Electric has established an emergency response team to guarantee the production of anti-epidemic resources.

Shanghai Electric stepped forward at such a critical moment to help some local enterprises resume their mask production equipment and lines that were sealed up, shut down, and out of service. The existing production capacity of Shanghai in anti-epidemic materials has been released. Backed by its professional manufacturing capacity in automated equipment, the group raced against time to develop and manufacture production lines for anti-epidemic masks. Shanghai Electric has demonstrated its commitment and responsibility in fighting and winning the battle against the epidemic.

On May 12, another thank-you letter from Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) arrived at Shanghai Electric. The COVID-19 Crisis Management Team at PLN expressed gratitude to Shanghai Electric for support and help to Indonesia during the crisis. Earlier Shanghai Electric Power Generation Service Co., Ltd. donated 10,000 medical protective suits to Indonesia, and the move was highly acknowledged by the local government. The batch of materials, as indicated in the letter, has been delivered to a makeshift hospital in the capital Jakarta for patient care.
