Our heat exchangers for compressed air energy storage system are characterized by high air flow rates, small heat exchange temperature differences, strict air resistance requirements, low heat exchange efficiency, and large heat exchange areas. We took the lead in China to use high-finned tube heat exchangers in the Dingxi Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station, which effectively reduces the operating resistance of air. Additionally, high-efficiency pure counterflow hairpin heat exchangers are adopted to effectively avoid thermal stress on tube sheets and reduce the number of heat exchanger stages. Moreover, an integrated charge-discharge design is employed to effectively reduce the number of equipment units.
