On July 26, coinciding with the opening of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), the unveiling ceremony of Dynamic Intelligent Control (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (“Dynamic Intelligent Control”) was held in Changning District. The new company is a joint venture between Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, and JEA Limited. Located in Changning’s “Shanghai Silicon Alley,” the company will focus on core technologies for complete joint modules in humanoid robots. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Zhang Wei, District Party Committee Secretary, Liu Ping, District Mayor of Changning District, Wu Lei, Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, Zhu Zhaokai, President of Shanghai Electric, and Patrick Wang, Chairman and CEO of Johnson Electric.
Zhang Wei extended his warm congratulations on the establishment and unveiling of Dynamic Intelligent Control. He emphasized that this event not only deepens Shanghai Electric’s ties but also marks the first collaboration with Johnson Electric from Hong Kong. He hoped that the three parties will work together to foster an innovation chain and industrial chain in Changning District, amplifying spillover effects and actively building a dynamic and competitive humanoid robotics ecosystem. Dynamic Intelligent Control is based in “Shanghai Silicon Alley”, a specialized sci-tech innovation block created by Changning District. Zhang Wei noted that this cooperation should serve as a new starting point for deeper collaboration with Shanghai Electric in the field of urban renewal, transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant innovation hubs that better support urban development.
Liu Ping presented the general information of Changning District. He highlighted that as a gateway of Shanghai’s opening-up, Changning District has always been committed to creating a market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment. With the mindset of being the “premium service steward,” the district government will spare no effort in supporting enterprises for sustained growth in Changning. He further noted that with the construction of “Shanghai Silicon Alley” as a key driver, Changning district will empower enterprises’ technological innovation, actively build cooperation platforms, and promote in-depth collaboration and joint innovation among Shanghai Electric, local universities, research institutes, and upstream/downstream enterprises, thus advancing high-quality industrial development.
Wu Lei remarked that this cooperation represents a concrete action jointly taken by Shanghai Electric and Changning District to implement the decisions and directives of the Municipal Government. It is an important symbol of a new round of district–enterprise cooperation, and a milestone in deepening joint ventures with Johnson Electric. He expressed the hope that Dynamic Intelligent Control will benchmark itself against “Specialized and Sophisticated” enterprises, and with the joint efforts of the three parties, achieve high-quality industrialized development.
The ceremony was presided over by Zhao Yongzun, Deputy Governor of Changning District. Over 30 participants attended the event, including officials from the Changning District Party Committee Office & Government Office, relevant functional departments, sub-district representatives, as well as executives from Shanghai Electric and Johnson Electric.
