Wu Lei expressed gratitude to the Embassy for its long-standing support of Shanghai Electric’s project development in the UAE and introduced the company’s business presence in the UAE and the broader Middle East region. He stated that as a leading enterprise in China’s equipment manufacturing industry, Shanghai Electric has built a strong foundation in both technologies and products related to wind power, photovoltaics, green hydrogen, and green methanol. The company is committed to leveraging its integrated strengths across the technology and industrial value chains to actively participate in China-UAE collaboration in energy transition and low-carbon technologies. Shanghai Electric aims to promote the implementation of more “Chinese technologies and Chinese solutions,” injecting new momentum into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Zhao highly praised Shanghai Electric’s achievements in the UAE. He noted that the Dubai solar energy project undertaken by the company is not only a model for China-UAE energy cooperation but also a vivid demonstration of high-quality Belt and Road Initiative development. He emphasized that the UAE is accelerating its “Energy Strategy 2050,” which aligns closely with China’s “dual carbon” goals. There is vast potential for cooperation between the two nations. The Embassy will continue to serve as a bridge, supporting Chinese enterprises such as Shanghai Electric in contributing to the UAE’s green economic transformation and promoting pragmatic cooperation across broader sectors, elevating the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.
