In recent years, ESG has increasingly become a key metric and management tool driving high-quality development for businesses. In response to the requirements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission on ESG initiatives, and in order to identify and showcase the highlights of the Group's ESG practices, in December 2023, Shanghai Electric formally initiated the collection and selection of outstanding ESG cases.

On January 26, Shanghai Electric held the excellent ESG case recognition meeting 2023 to award the winning enterprises and share ESG concepts and practices.

From industrial groups and enterprises, many excellent cases were collected, fully demonstrating the excellent performance and experience of all enterprises of Shanghai Electric in the fields of environment, social responsibility and governance. Experts conducted evaluations based on four dimensions: "high level", “effectiveness", “innovation" and “scalability”. Twelve companies were selected as finalists for the annual ESG Excellent Practice Cases, with two receiving first prizes, four receiving second prizes and six receiving third prizes.
