Days ago, the multi-energy storage industrial development forum themed “Create Future By Fulfilling Dual Carbon Goals With Internet Tools” was convened online and attended by Zhu Zhaokai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Electric Group and Chairman of Shanghai Electrical and Mechanical Labor Union, and Deputy President Jin Xiaolong, which is the first event of Shanghai Electric’s series of “Dual Carbon Goals”-themed sessions.

Ten professionals and insiders of different fields from Shanghai Electric and its subsidiaries together with China Sinogy Electric Engineering analyzed technical features, application potential and measures for groundbreaking development in such areas as lithium battery energy storage, sodium-ion batteries, flywheel energy storage, pumped hydroelectricity storage, flow cells, compressed air energy storage, photo-thermal energy storage, molten salt heat storage and hybrid energy storage.

With the successful start of the multi-energy storage forum, Shanghai Electric will launch more activities planned in the series of “Dual Carbon Goals”-themed sessions in order to unleash the potential of in-house and external talents and new technologies in this regard, generate stronger incentives for employees to make innovations, and collaborate more closely with partners and clients. Developing a “coordinated” business ecology and consensus on “joint invention and shared benefits”, will boost the innovation-driven high-quality development and the achievement of “Dual Carbon Goals” in the quickest manner for Shanghai Electric Group.

Zhu Zhaokai stressed that this year is critical for Shanghai Electric to tap into new markets and foster new engines to implement the “14th Five-Year Plan” of Shanghai Electric Group. The “Dual Carbon Goals”-themed sessions is an important move by Shanghai Electric Group to promote high-quality development, which aims at improving the expertise and innovation capabilities of our employees, the most important for our development, and encouraging them to fulfill their responsibilities and leverage their talents to facilitate Shanghai Electric’s high-quality development.

Jin Xiaolong said that the “Dual Carbon Goals” has imposed enormous opportunities for fast development of energy storage technologies and huge challenges on how to cut costs and realize commercialization. Continuing the success of this form, we will implement the group’s “14th Five-Year Plan” by integrating and improving the development capacities of the energy storage sector, exploring more application scenarios for related technologies and forging solutions that can create more value for clients in order to build new drivers for high-quality development.

This forum was co-hosted by the New Energy Development Department, the Technology Management Department, the Communist Youth League of Shanghai Electric Group and the Shanghai Electrical and Mechanical Labor Union, and held by the Innovation Center of Pacific Mechatronic (Group) Co., Ltd. Representatives from the energy storage sector of various industrial groups attended the forum, while over 5,000 participants viewed it online, all of whom highly recognized the event.
