On the morning of July 9, the Industrial Intelligence Summit of 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference took place in Shanghai. Yang Hong, Vice President of Shanghai Electric Group, attended the summit upon invitation and discussed the significance of industrial intelligence and digital transformation with other guests.

As a key event at the 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the summit, themed "Digital Intelligence, Industrial Empowerment", focuses on the role of industrial intelligence in the digital transformation of the economy, as well as the role of AI technology in the digital transformation of the industrial ecosystem. Through discussions on hot topics such as how to improve the "data-driven" capabilities of AI technology, promote "connected intelligence", drive "industry integration", and establish an "open ecology," it hopes to stimulate the overall digital transformation and revolutionary reshaping of cities in China, and encourage the empowerment of AI in the industrial sector.

Before the opening of the summit, Yang Hong, on behalf of Shanghai Electric, pressed the start button for the joint construction of "the Planet of Industrial Empowerment - Industrial Digital Empowerment System 1.0" together with other guests present. The system was initiated by the Shanghai Industrial Internet Association and its more than 300 members. It focuses on the whole life cycle of the digital transformation of industrial companies, with support from Hongkou District, Baoshan District, Minhang District, Songjiang District, the Management Committee of Lingang Area, the Management Committee of SCIP, etc. The system is seen as a measure to push for the innovation and development of the national industrial Internet, and also a new engine for comprehensively serving the digital transformation of industrial enterprises.

Mao Yizhong, General Manager of the Shanghai Electric Power Generation Equipment Co., Ltd. Generator Plant, also spoke at the summit about how traditional industries may accomplish digital transformation and digital twins.

The four-day World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2021, with the theme of "Intelligent Connectivity, Inspirational Cities," was set with a number of high-level forums. They focus on "the digital transformation of cities empowered by AI", and intend to address the frontier of AI innovation and industrial application, with an aim to convey the idea and system of people-oriented urban digital transformation, and interpret how AI empowers economy, life and governance in a global manner.
