Israel SEDC 6MW Tower CSP Experimental Plant
In 2008, BrightSource's first project, SEDC, began to operate. The installed capacity is 6MW, which verifies the feasibility of the photothermal power generation technology. In 2015, BrightSource replaced water medium heat receiver with molten salt medium heat receiver, successfully verified the technical feasibility, and obtained financing from the World Bank.

Shanghai Electric BrightSource Solar Energy Co.,Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “CJV”) is a joint venture established by Shanghai Electric and BrightSource. It is committed to development and application of concentrated solar power (“CSP”) technology. CJV extends its business based on the equipment manufacturing, financial leasing, engineering construction capability of Shanghai Electric and the reliable core CSP technology and successful project experience of BrightSource. CJV devotes itself to become a technical engineering and service company to achieve its own value by doing various projects.


SEDC 6MW Tower CSP Experimental Power Station is located in Israel and is the world's most advanced experimental field for solar field control technology. In the test base, not only the first test of the wireless control technology was carried out, but also the test of the water medium heat receiver and the molten salt medium heat receiver. At present, the test base also tests different types of small heliostats.
