U.S. Coalinga 29MWth CSP Flooding Project
In September 2011, BrightSource and Chevron Petroleum cooperated in the world's largest solar thermal flooding demonstration plant. Coalinga project was officially completed. This 29MWth solar thermal steam plant enhances oil recovery in the oil field and ensures zero emissions while increasing oil production.

Shanghai Electric BrightSource Solar Energy Co.,Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “CJV”) is a joint venture established by Shanghai Electric and BrightSource. It is committed to development and application of concentrated solar power (“CSP”) technology. CJV extends its business based on the equipment manufacturing, financial leasing, engineering construction capability of Shanghai Electric and the reliable core CSP technology and successful project experience of BrightSource. 1. The Coalinga project is the world's first project to use the CSP steam technology to drive oil. The process of generating steam from photothermal technology is green and environmentally friendly compared to other ways of providing steam.

2. At the same time, the operation and maintenance of the photothermal steam station is simple, the operation and maintenance cost is low, and the personnel demand is small.
