Qinshan 1, 2, 3
Qinshan 1, the first operating nuclear power plant in China, generates an electric output of 300 MW. Qinshan 2 is the first home-made commercial nuclear power plant with independent design, construction, management and operation. Qinshan 3 adopts Canadian CANDU6 heavy water reactor, with an output of 700 MW per unit.
SEC-KSB’s predecessor, Shanghai Pumps Works provided all the independent developed nuclear class 2 pumps for Qinshan 1, auxiliary centrifugal pumps for Qinshan 2 and RCW maintenance system pumps for Qinshan 3. KSB has supplied Qinshan 1 with the first reactor coolant pump in China, which has been in operation for more than 30 years without any failure.
