On August 18, the 2020 list of "Shanghai Top 100 Enterprises" was jointly released by the Shanghai Enterprise Confederation, Shanghai Entrepreneur Association, Shanghai Federation of Economics Organizations (SFEO), and Jiefang Daily in Shanghai. Shanghai Electric climbed one notch to the 16th place.

The annual ranking of top Shanghai corporations as measured by revenue sees its finalist threshold soaring to RMB7.32 billion from RMB5.96 billion in 2019. By expanding global footprints, Shanghai Electric has seized many big deals and registered double-digit growth in such key indicators as net profit and new orders. In the future, Shanghai Electric will pursue steady growth through intelligent transformation and structural optimization. With a strong foothold in Shanghai, it will expand presence across the Yangtze River Delta region and build itself into an iconic Chinese brand as indicated in the "three-step" strategy.

"Shanghai Top 100 Manufacturers" and "Shanghai Top 100 Service Enterprises" were also published the same day. Shanghai Electric remains 7th on the "Shanghai Top 100 Manufacturers" list.
