Circulating cooling sewage as a kind of slightly polluted industrial wastewater with high salt, it must be reused or drained after processing according to the relevant national environmental policy. Considering the economic and environmental value of water resources recycling, Shanghai Electric’s solution can fully meet the deep treatment requirements of the circulating cooling sewage, realizing the recycling of water resources, and greatly reducing the water consumption of the circulating cooling water system.

A cement factory in Shaanxi province has a set of cement furnace waste heat power generation devices, with its circulating cooling water system using an open tower for cooling and recycling. Since the quality of the groundwater in the area varies greatly, and the high hardness of the filling water and the shortage of water in summer have led to the deterioration of the recirculating water system’s water quality, with indicators seriously exceeding the normal parameters and showing serious internal scaling in the cooling system. At the same time, local environmental protection policies require that the circulating cooling water not to be discharged outside of the plant. The water quality of the system is characterized by high salinity, high hardness, high alkalinity, high turbidity and contains scale inhibitors and other chemical residues. Shanghai Electric provides the owner with a circulating wastewater treatment system to recycle the produced water to the circulating cooling water system according to specifications, and improve the internal scaling of the cooling system and subsequently increase the efficiency of the unit.

The cleaning cycle of the cooling water system is reduced from twice a year to no cleaning operation, which greatly improves the generating efficiency of the generator set;
