The project will initially achieve an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of green methanol (to be put into operation in 2025), with the final capacity reaching 1 million tons per year. It is equipped with new energy installations of over 3 million kilowatts to meet the demand for low - carbon marine fuels, replacing traditional fossil methanol and establishing itself as a green methanol hub in Northeast Asia.
The company’s products Bristack®-Z1000 alkaline electrolyzer and Bristack®-P300 PEM electrolyzer have successfully received the authoritative certification of TÜV Rheinland. The product performance exceeds the requirements of the project contract and reaches industry-leading level. The company has the ability to achieve the annual production capacity of 1GW alkaline electrolyzers and 200MW PEM electrolyzers.
Shanghai Electric is committed to providing customers with "production-storage-refueling- utilization " integrated system solutions, and has achieved breakthroughs in green chemical industry, hydrogen metallurgy, hydrogen transportation, hydrogen energy storage and other application fields. By building a new green and low-carbon energy ecosystem, Shanghai Electric aims to assist our global clients in achieving their carbon neutrality goals.
The project adopts a combined solution of an alkaline electrolysis hydrogen production system with a capacity of 8,000 Nm³/h (featuring low cost and suitability for base-load power supply) and a PEM electrolysis hydrogen production system with a capacity of 200 Nm³/h (offering high-purity hydrogen and a response speed of less than 10 seconds). This enables flexible hydrogen production using wind power and electrolyzers. The overall load adjustment range of the system reaches 20%-110%. Ultimately, green methanol that meets the EU ISCC standards is produced through coupling with biomass gasification. This is another exploration and breakthrough by the company in green chemical technology with higher requirements, following its previous project of coupling green hydrogen with coal-based chemical industry in Inner Mongolia.
