With its cloud-based operating model, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group won the bids for 4 F-level gas turbines of the Anhui Province Energy Group Hefei Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant and the Huaihe Energy Group Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant, while making every effort to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, efficiently accomplishing the daunting tasks of epidemic prevention and control and smooth production and operation.

In response to the COVID-19 resurgence since March, the Group’s gas turbine line actively put into practice the policies of Shanghai Municipality on COVID-19 prevention and control and the decisions by the Party Committee of Shanghai Electric Group. It coincided with the imminent bidding of several projects such as the Anhui Province Energy Group Hefei Power Plant and the Huaihe Energy Group Chuzhou Power Plant; the shortest timeframe for bid preparation was only 7 days. In the face of the urgent demand of customers and the ongoing pandemic challenges, the gas turbine line responded quickly, immediately coordinated the resources, and pulled experienced commercial and technical staff for the bidding team. The team members overcame many difficulties when they could only work from home. They communicated through telephone, team chat, email and video conference to arrange work, prepare documents and complete reviews at each level. During the bidding, they successfully finished online promotion, video Q&A and telephone interview, and finally won the trust of the customer with excellent product quality, outstanding technical solutions and professional working attitude, carrying off the manufacturing bids for gas turbines of the Anhui Province Energy Group Hefei Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant and the Huaihe Energy Group Chuzhou Natural Gas Peak Shaving Power Plant.

The two projects, as the first F-level gas turbines for peak shaving in Anhui, comprise 4 sets of combined cycle units with a total generating capacity of 2,000 MW. As key projects under Anhui Province’s Three-Year Action Plan for Power Supply, they are of great significance to the province to achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
