Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group Co., Ltd. declared the rollout of its independently-developed wind turbine blade S102 - also the longest in China - and onshore blade S89, following the world's longest wind turbine blade of glass fiber S90 produced on February 6. This means that the Wind Power Group has broken three records for the length of wind turbine blades at home and abroad within just half a year and more.

Blade S102 is 102 meters long, and suitable for use in Category I typhoon areas on the sea. Its rollout marks Shanghai Electric’s start of producing offshore wind turbine blades with a length of more than 100 meters.

Blade S89 is 89 meters long, and will be provided as a supporting component in the new-generation wind turbine units. The blade is now the longest onshore blade in the world and is designed with digital tools. For the future, the Wind Power Group will continue to be driven by low costs of generating electricity and explore better blade solutions through the consistent R&D of new technology.
