The Communist Party and the country’s leaders are very concerned about the growth of Shanghai Electric. Comrades Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao had inspected the subsidiaries of Shanghai Electric. Hu Jintao, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCCPC), inspected the Minhang manufacturing base and the Lingang manufacturing base of Shanghai Electric on 28th July, 2004 and 15th January, 2010 respectively.

January 15, 2010, Party General Secretary Hu Jintao inspected Shanghai Electric Lingang Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Base.
